Cheri Capparelli

DVM / OWNER

Dr Cheri Capparelli was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. She pursued her undergraduate training in Biology Sciences (B.S.) at Syracuse University (Go Orange!). After working as an animal assistant and veterinary technician she went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery degree at Ross Veterinary School of Medicine in 1998. She spent her clinical year at Purdue Veterinary School in Lafayette, Indiana.  After graduation, she practiced for several years in small animal and exotic/wildlife medicine in Liverpool, NY. She joined her mentor and partner Dr. Ann Harris at Rockacres Veterinary Hospital in 2004. She is currently co-owner and partners with Dr. Elizabeth Downing. Dr. Capparelli is experienced in preventative care, internal medicine, surgery, and dentistry care for dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles, birds and other exotic pets and wildlife. 

Dr. Capparelli lives with her husband Andy and her son Eli, currently a physics major at Syracuse University. They currently share their lives with their elder cats, Carmel and Coco.  

She especially enjoys spending her free time outdoors gardening, birdwatching, walking and hiking, riding her bike, reading, music and cooking.
