Sandy Murphy

DVM

Dr. Sandy Murphy was born and raised in Tonawanda, New York (Go Bills!). She pursued her undergraduate training in Biology (B.S.) at SUNY Geneseo and went to earn her DVM at Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from veterinary school in 2012, she advanced her training by completing a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey. Dr. Murphy has since worked at other small animal practices in New York before joining the Rockacres family in 2025. She is experienced in preventative care, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, and emergency care for dogs and cats. She also cares for “exotic” pets including mammals, reptiles, and birds, and maintains an interest in zoos and conservation medicine.

Dr. Murphy lives with her husband Kellen, their black lab Ferne, and their three cats - Orla, Bart, and Roger. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors, exploring and studying the natural world. She especially loves camping, hiking, kayaking, skiing, running, reading, antiquing, live music, and trivia.
